i seen a few 16 heads for sale and and wondering what was the diffrence in the 60's from the 70's as I see they go from around 350hors down to about 290horse is it just that they through in smaller vales if thats the case could the vales be reaplaced with larger ones without major work to the head????
thanks

Pretty much the only difference is the valve size.
The seats would have to be cut for the bigger valves by a trust worthy machine shop.

Also the 1973-74 16's had round exhaust ports which are the super duty heads and very expensive and came with the larger valves as well.
