afte3r seeing the article on craig hendricksons turbo force kit available in the late 70s i am dead set on turboing my 79 ta. i have an earlier year engine thats pretty close to the stock specs. it think it would be a perfect candidate for a turbo setup like the turboforce considering 8.4 to 1 compression and the forged pistons. but i have alot of questions. craig used a rajay 301e turbo. was this the best possible turbo for the stock 400? if so ive never seen one of these so is there any turbo out there thats close to the same thing? i want it to be streetable and i want to be able to haul ass down the track. and how many people can say there poncho is turboed? if you have any advice it would help out

Check out this thread: http://forums.highperformancepontiac.com/70/7144946/the-general-discussion/turbocharged-pontiac/index.html
This one has some discussion with Craig himself about the whole turbo issue and you can check out his website from there too. Steve

On my TurboForce Revival Project 1976 Firebird, I used a AirReseach T04B. That is somewhat larger than the old Rayjay 301E, so better suited to a 400. It WILL fit in the same space as the 301E, albeit a tighter fit.

Craig, good to hear from you again. Do you still have the 76 Bird? I recall you saying it was for sale, just curious if you decided to hold on to it, bet it is a blast to drive. Did you have any track numbers for it? Steve
