Hey guys,I finally have the lemans out and running but one part is driving me nuts.  I have a belt moulding that goes all the way around the car to separate the two paint colors and I can not find the clips that attach the moulding to the body side.  Any ideas.

just curious...   did you keep any of them??????   if they are plastic... there is a part number on them....  sure makes it easy to find... just google it..

i take it that you are asking for the belt molding clips for an 81  le mans..

i wonder if they are the same as the ones used on a monte carlo..????/

this will take some time.. and if you don't have a part number off the original clips..  its going to take a while...

try this link...

http://www.auveco.com/product/index.html

their catalog is over 500 pages long and has stuff not available elsewhere...

i am almost sure this is the link for the full catalog... so don't copy and paste it unless you have high speed and some time...

be sure to save a copy...  they never go out of date..

http://www.auveco.com/download/catalog/auveco_catalog.pdf

they also have the screws that replace the little studs for mounting trim clips around windshields and rear glass... and along the sides of the car..

their products can be ordered through automotive paint stores..   automotive upholstry supply stores... some REAL parts stores...  and a few a very few REAL hardware stores...  most places wait for a large order before placing orders..

you might also find something over at

https://www.dormanproducts.com

there are several sections to search...

I do have a few of them but they are broken.  My lemans did not have the moulding originally and it took parts of off 3 different cars in my local wrecking yard to go all the way around.  I have the part number but my local GM dealer is no longer listed.  I have also gone through the auveco catalogue but they do not have the right ones (I got my windshield moulding clips from them and they were perfect).

I did not check with dorman, I will try with them also.  Thanks for the link and info.  I'll keep you posted.

My local GM dealer looked up the part number but it is no longer listed.  I checked with the auveco catalogue but hey do not have them either.  They did wohever have my windshield moulding clips and they were perfect.

I forgot about dorman products,  I will check with them this weekend.  thanks for the info.

did you google the part numbers....   there are a lot of aftermarket suppliers that might have them...

most car dealerships used to have a nation wide parts finder...   there have been in the past.. a few dealerships with giant warehouses to store and sell obsolete parts...

i live in so cal... and have had to order parts from the one place that had them in new york state...

post the part numbers you need...  or send them to me in a private message...   click on my user name to do that after you log in...  there will be a long to send me a private message...  and i do check them...

you can also take pictures of them next to a ruler...  post them to photobucket.com... post the links here... i can copy the link.. and paste it in a new window to see what they look like.. be sure to include the part number...

hope you get this..

there is always double stick VHB tape...    most better body paint stores will have it...  look it up at 3m .com...   most big rig cabs are assembled with it...   but get the trim on in the exact position...  use low tack blue tape to make sure the trim is lined up straight..   with several friends with knowledge...
