I have 2 motors that I would like to get some help on. Can any one tell me what cars these motors came from and the year?
1)400 110544 WT Date Code: K046 2)455 207051 YW Date Code: E214
It's hard to read the first digit on the 455. I can tell it is 07051 YW but the 2 could be an 8.
Thanks.

The 400 is a 1976 with 185 HP used in F and B body cars. The 455 is a 1974 with 250HP used in A,B and F body cars.

I was told the 400 was from 1967. Evidently that is incorrect. Thanks

I found a block casting number on the 400 that reads 9786133, does that make a difference? Is their any way to tell from the engine codes what car the motors came out of (GTO, Catalina, Trans Am, etc)?

Yes, that block casting is a 335hp 1967 400, the date code would indicate Nov, 4, 1966. The WT indicates it was amanual trans application. Steve

Yep it is a 67 400. The 67 400 block is a lot better then the 76 400 block.

You are welcome. All of this info is available under tech topics on Year One's website or on Wallace racing.com. That's how we all manage to look so smart, sometimes it's not what we know, but knowing where to look for it! Steve
