Simple answer, yes - BUT!!!
I have had Firebirds and Trans Ams with Pontiac 350's, Chevy 350's, 400's, a 455 HO, and two 1981 Turbo Trans Am's. I sold one Turbo car out of sheer frustration, and put a 400 in the other one - the whole purpose was to get rid of the turbo cancer. The headache and expense required to put that turbo on a 400 is unneccessary compared to the performance you can get by simply building up the 400.

The 301 used a specific intake manifold that won't fit any other Pontiac V8, you could make an adapter but the turbo is undersized for larger Pontiac motors, also the carb calibration will likely be way off. There is a reason why nobody does this, it's not worth the effort. Steve
