Hey guys I was thinking about a cam swap in the 400 in my 75 G.P. to wake it up until I figure out how I want to build my 455. I bought a Comp Cam that I was told not to use in the 455 due to detionation concerns. It is an XE268H .477"/.480" lift 224/230 duration at .050 with 110 lobe separation. The 400 is stock with 5C heads and 7.6:1 compression with under 45,000 miles. The rear is 3.23 posi. I have an Edelbrock Performer intake I could put on it. The car has 1 5/8" 4 tube headers and 2 1/4" dual exhaust. Good idea or no?. If good will the stock torque converter be o.k.? What mods would need done to the Q-Jet or should I buy a different carb? Also I saw a blurb in H.P.P. about Edelbrock that they are suppost to come out with D Port heads. Anyone heard about this? Thanks

That cam is a little big for the stock heads and a 7.6:1CR.
