A bit skeptical about my water pump

I ordered this water pump, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GMB-130-1280/ off of summit's site but didn't do any research on it before I bought it (which I now do before I buy anything). It's supposed to be a stock replacement for a Pontiac 350 which may exceed stock performance but when I got the water pump, the first thing I noticed was "Made in China". I don't normally put anything on my firebird unless it's from N. America as I don't trust anything else. I had a low budget at the time but my concern is even my mechanic (that i've known for quite a while) even told me he didn't trust it either. Anybody know if these are quality built water pumps? I tried finding some kind of review but nothing came up. It's on the motor right now but really thinking I should spend a little more money and get an edelbrock water pump and replace this one. Thanks

Not everything made in China is junk- I have aluminum water pumps made by PRW on both my 350 and 400. They have a HD bearing and cast impeller, and are better than anything I've seen made in USA for the price ($80).

I bought the brand Flow King. Was just looking for the receipt but no luck. Cost was about $100 made in USA. Work great looks good too, aluminum. Company is somewhere in CA. I got stuck with a GMB for my old truck. Lasted about 6 months and replaced it with a NAPA brand rebuild and probably 50,000 miles on it. I have refused to use most foriegn stuff on my GTO but a lot of stuff is only available from Taiwan, wheel well trim, logos etc.
