Going to rebuild a 455. I have a set of 6X-4 Heads. Also have another set of 6X but one is marked 6X-4 and the other is 6X-8. Is there a difference in 8 and 4?
Thanks!

The 6X-4 has 91cc chambers and the 6X-8 has 101cc chambers.

Best to use the -8 heads on a 455 for streetable compression ratio. Steve

Question...What would be the comp ratio if I go with the -4's? My understanding is that this would put me at about 9.5/1 ratio.

Depending on bore, head gaskets being use, piston head volume and deck height you will yield around 9.5-10.3:1cr. Can't say exactly until you list some part numbers and specs on the above info.

OK, Thanks! Pretty sure it will be .040 over. TRW forged pistons but I don't know the exact model number yet. I'm still a newby when it comes to selecting heads, pistons cams, etc. This forum has been great. Doing alot of reading lately.
