OK folks how do I successfully paint the hood scoop grills on our 65 GTO. Got the silver part down but now how to black out the back ground. I have tryed various black pens with no good results. The front end grills and tail piece were challange enough. Even with the size of those pieces it was not an easy chore. Winter is about to decend on us now so it's time to put the finishing touchs on this project.

OK, I thought they were all black, but I am a TA guy.
You could use Liquid Mask. Paint it all silver and then use the Liquid Mask (I've seen it used on wheels)on the parts that will remain silver. Next spray the black. Remove the Mask and you have a two color paint job. Try it on something else before you try it on your grill. If you can't find it at the parts store try a hobby shop.
There are probably other ways of doing it but this was all I could think of. I hope it helps.

I wish I had known about Liquid Mask before I spent all the time masking off the silver part of my TA's snowflake wheels with 1/4 inch masking tape!
