I am putting together a 65 GTO that the engine is bored .040 over. At that size, will I have to be concerned with overheating problems? And if so, are there any suggestions as how to help it run cool?

It seems to me that anytime these engines are bored over heating is a problem. You can look here for past forums item on over heating, there are plenty. What I can tell you from my experience is your cooling system better be in new condition or better. I had the chance to get an AC core support for my 65 and passed it by. That can make a big difference. The radiator is 2" taller. You can also weld a 2" entension on yours and use the AC radiator. Guys I know that have gone to the aluminum raditators aren't completely satisfied either. You can make it work but you have to be aware of the areas to improve on. Mine, with a .030 over 400, now runs 180 when it's less than 90 outside and about 210 when it's 100 and the AC is running.

It has the original 389 that came in the car.
Thanks for the reply
