change out the burned out bulbs...
make sure the head lamp switches ceramic resistor is in good shape or replace the head light switch... the big white ceramic block with the embedded would wire is the instrument cluster resistor... it varies the amount of current to the instrument lights...
i don't have a list of how many of which bulbs you will need.. someone may have that list... perhaps they will share that info...
most of the bulbs are #194... and you can save money by buying a 10 pack of 194 bulbs from behind the parts counter in some stores... its a lot cheeper than 2 packs for 3 bucks.. these fit into the twist in plastic holders...
you may also need some 1445 bulbs... which are brass base with a tiny bulb... at 1.94 watts...
and you may need some 1895 bulbs... which have a bulb the size of a dime.. at 3.78 watts..
the last 2 bulbs are found in bulb sockets with wires directly attached..
you might also check the ground circuit for the dash board.. make sure it is tight and properly grounded...

I'm doing that now too. The corroded coil wire in the old ceramic switch sure dulls the brightness. Glad you know those numbers Wayne - that helps me a lot too. I would like to know where to find those little blue red or green condom looking things that go over the bulbs to make the dash lights look cool at night. My Silver Anniversary had red ones and my '81 Bandit was green. My wifes baby blue Skybird was blue.

For those covers, try a truck stop chrome shop. Truckers like all that funky stuff and most truckstops have a good selection of doodads. Steve
Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!

Thanks Steve, Did the Formulas come from the factory with those too? My other Firebirds just had white lights.
BTW, got my floor pans and carpet in - looks great. I fabricated new rocker panels and put juke everywhere. Surprisingly, the hardest part was getting the seats back in. Brazil
