Yes we did get a little off of the original subject didn't we.
Well here's my contribution.
My band was coming home from a gig at 3AM in the morning over the big Houston Ship Channel bridge in Houston. We were in one of those early 70's Monti Carlo's that had three carburators. (I know very little about Cheveys).
Anyway, we were pulling a U-Haul trailor full of band equipment - guitars , mics, a huge bass amp, a Yamaha C-1 electric piano, two marshall guitar amps, our entire "Voice of the Theatre" Altec P.A. system, a drum set and all of our guitars.
We were exhausted and wanting to just get home. As we were approaching the giant bridge, some Plymoth Himmey thing appeared out of nowhere and procedded to give us a one finger greeting and then plow off into the distance.
Being a fellow scorpion, I knew there was no way this was going to pass this easily without some sort of consequence. Especially at 3 AM and no traffic.
It is forever welded into my mind when my normally peaceful pianist started accelerating, and then accelerating some more.....and then hit passing gear and literally sailed past that Hemey with our poor U-Haul full of musical equipment completely off the ground holding on for dear life. It was just like those Flintstone cartoons where Barney's holding on with his feet flying in the air.
I was looking at 130 and had never seen a road become so narrow, especially with an extra guest connected. Sometimes it's hard to believe we survived those times.

I've only ever topped my bird out with a poorly-running engine running on 7 cylinders going 60 MPH. Speaking of stupid laws, one day I got pulled over for having a "suspicious car?" and later learned that my neighbor (who looked quite old) called the cops on me because I kept doing circles around the neighborhood in a car that wasn't "ordinary". Ha I think it was because my car was loud and I pissed him off (it was 6:30 in the morning lol) but the officer also saw my license plate was out of date. I explained to him I just got the car and it's a project... surprisingly he was cool with it! I'm guessing he was new since he didn't look much older than me but he told me I had a nice project car and have a good day! Good thing he didn't see my tags out of date and no insurance but I would of figured he knew that anyway
