my 71 lemans has a turbo 400 tranny it is leaking the tranny fluid out as fast as I can pour it in, weather if the car is running or not. It does not appear to be comming from the lines or oil pan gasket. It looks like it is comming from the bottom between the motor and the tranny ,torqueconverter and the flywheel. Obviously I am not a mechanic. Anny help would be appreciated.

Check the dipstick tube where it enters the tranny. The o ring and seal there are notorious for leaks. A ton leaked out of mine as it sat in storage last winter. Was a pretty easy and cheap fix this spring.

Knowing where the fluid is leaking from would help. i.e. If its coming out of the torque converter cover pan then it could be a bad front seal, out of the tail shaft a rear seal could be the problem.
Cooling lines can leak, improperly torqued bolts, cracked pans and even cracked or sprung cases. Oh, and certainly the filler tube.

Some Th400 (mostly Chevy later models, dont' know about Pontiac's)had a 5 bolt pump and some had a 7 bolt pump. If you had the tranny replaced, they might have put a 5 bolt case with a 7 bolt pump in it. there is a bottom bolt that will leak and you can't put one in b/c there is a big hole in the case where it should be.
