accelerator squirter jet size question for 400

Hi all-
trying to get a ballpark estimate for my 68 firebird. New Holley 770cfm vac secondary carb has a bog off line only under WOT acceleration. Out of the box it came with a number 27 squirter. I changed it to a 29 that I had laying around. That helped a bit. Trying to get someone else's experience becacause these squirters are $14 each. Holly says jump 3 sizes then fine tune with a pump cam kit. Car is auto tranny, 2.56 rear (I know, I know), 400ci, performer intake, 16 heads with a RAIII grind cam, stock log type exhaust manifolds (I know, I know).

Refresh my memory what is the lift on the Ra3 cam your using.

What is your timing set at?
Have you tried adjusting the accelerator pump?

base timing with vac unplugged at 15 deg before. total timing is 33btdc at 2500rpm. have an adjust vac can to deter the pinging with the 16 heads. like octane boost.
have not adjusted the pump itself. it has a 30cc volume shot now as Holley set it. they dont reccommend going to more volume until the squirter size is above #40. I will try the #32 this weekend. Hoping it is fine with that. My goal is to have immediate throttle response when the pedal meets the floorboard. Now, there is a slight bog, she falls down and coughs for a secing and then pulls nice especially as the secondaries open up! Otherwise the carb runs real nice on this engine,

Ya the 750cfm vac. secondary carb. comes with a #31 squirter from Holley and that should work fine or the #32.

#32 is Perfect!! Nice throttle response, no lag. Now i have to watch my tire spin, even with the highway gears. Thanks
