My wife's first car was a really cool "girly car", a 1978 Skybird with a 350. After it was stolen, the '81 Turbo Trans Am she bought was a big disappointment. That baby blue Firebird had so much torque and not one modification. It's all in the combo. Some cars just came from Detroit with more loving care. I think it's 'cause it was purty...prettey....pritty......cute.

Thats pretty much the deal Creep. It's an origional piece so if the numbers matched when i got it they should match when it leaves me.After all I am nothing more than an executor of a one car museum for as long as i own it.That has to be a non-variable.Something has to be as it was for there to be any reference to the past.I'm not getting spooky on this i'm simply stating that this will be a time window into the year 1969 except for whatever i do to get it up on the wheel!!!The 413 thing was just an asside to what is available now.I really intend to do no more than what would have been done to it back in 1969 to get it going. And since the origionality aspect of these cars is now a big thing I was going to keep it as oprigional as possible.car and block sequential numbering is a big thing now so why would I put myself at a disadvantage when considering resale by replacing the motor with a big incher?I really am quite interested in how much you can get out of a steetable 350.I'm really gonna give it a shot just to see where it can go.I have seen 500+ H.P. chevy 350's so why not a 400+ h.p. poncho?I think this is very obtainable in todays performance world.

That Pontiac 350 will kick major ass, just go for it. I never got the same response from a Chevy 350.

man that post was from along time ago ill update you guys on what im doing i got a 400 since i have a few laying around i got a 468 stroker kit for it for 1000 dollars off ebay, its not tiawan parts or anything its got forged keithblack pistons and forged h beam rods and a cast steel crank,
i was gonna try to get some edelbrock heads off ebay i seen a few pairs go around 1200-1600 dollars but didnt act on it now i cant find any, ive been calling machine shops around to redo my 6x heads it will cost me 750 dollars, and id still have to port them myself i got a book and a video on how to do it so im figuring id be alright, cant i just like bead blast my 6x heads paint them, install my correct springs for the xe274 cam i would use with the 6x heads, and be good?? im gonna have almost 2000 dollars in this motor when its all said and done without the heads, which i think is astronomical just to have a engine that runs good, but i guess thats what you gotta spend cause, i got the stroker kit cause its just about the same price as getting forged domed pistons so i could use 6x heads on my 400 and have somewhat decent performance

Do you mean bronze valve guides? Going from a 1.66 ex. valve to a 1.77 you will not see much difference.

The 1.77 valves will not flow that much more to make it worth while for the cost.

Are they replacing the valves and if so are they using stainless steel valves or steel replacement valves.

stainless steel valves, 550 if i supply the valves, yea i was beginning to think that cause i look on butler performance and its 125 for both heads for a valve job,and do i really need more then that if i just get a valve job and replace the old valves with new stainless ones there on ebay for 120 for 16 last time i checked, id feel alot better if the heads when all said and done were around 300, i just cant see the point in putting more then that kind of money into a head like that and if i screw up the port job having it be worthless and a waste of money,
