Just wondering...Can I remove the area that houses the AC "stuff" for lack of knowing what to call it. This would be the area in the engine bay in front of the fire wall and on the passenger side. I'm starting to revive the car and it originaly had AC. I've owned the car for 20 years and never had the AC functional and don't plan on using it. Would like to have more room to work and also show off the engine once its done.

Thanks!

There was an article in HPP years ago (I think it was about Tom DeMauro's TA) that dealt with this topic. It was done at Melvin Benzaquen's Classic Restorations and it is quite involved but it can be done. There is a lot to change both inside and outside to switch over to standard heat and vents. I might be able to find the article and email it to you if you are interested.

A little help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!

Or just take off the A/C housing and get the plastic thing that was made to go on Firebirds and Camaros that didn't come with A/C.
