Be patient, alot of the regulars have been offline for the holidays. Your big concerns will be the width compared to your strut towers and the resulting clearance issues with headers or manifolds. Also remember that third gen f-bodies don't allow for straight back duals due to the design of the structural members of the unibody. Any headers/manifolds system is going to require a custom built crossover pipe feeding into any of the available large diameter single systems. The fuel system is a concern also, I've heard of guys converting TBI to work on a Pontiac V8 but I've never done it. Your trans will have to be replaced or use an adapter plate for the different bellhousing pattern. Your front springs will need to be swapped for heavier ones as the Pontiac is significantly heavier than the Chevy and you will need the Pontiac power steering pump and likely a hybrid line to make the early pump work with the later box. This is all food for thought if you want to make this swap. Personally I would go with a later model (1-piece rear main) 350 with an Edelbrock TBI intake and cam. That way you can use readily available headers and crossover and maintain your factory handling. I say this even though I am a hardcore Pontiac V8 fan because the third gen just wasn't designed for the big V8 without a bunch of work. Hope this helps.

A little help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!

Don't know how but I have seen a 455 stuffed into a 85 *** just know motor mounts will have to be replaced with correct pontiac block mounts and be relocated.

im sticking with the sbc, my brother has a 69 firebird with a pontiac 400 i went over and measured his and it would be a fugger to fit it in, ive already got headers on it im just gonna use the botor thats in it, its a 91 lb9 engin coded 305, im just not a big fan of efi that is why i was going with the older motor,
