One day it just stopped working... is this usually a wiring issue? could it just be a fuse? sorry but I'm not much of a mechanic, just want to try to fix some things on my own... any help would be appreciated

Usually wiring yep but horns do go bad usually cause they are full of water. Connect a test light or meter to the wire and see if it has voltage. If yes, its the horn, if no, its the connector, wiring, fuse, or switch. If it blew a fuse there is a wiring problem. If the fusebox end gets no voltage, its probably the switch on the steering wheel.

Mine stopped working when I really wanted to honk at someone! There is a horn relay under the dashboard that I kicked and it reconnected, the relay is about an inch square little box that needed to be replaced. I just ask for a horn relay at the parts shop. Another time when it didn't work, my dog had chewed the wires that go to the horns themselves in front of the radiator.
