HI Ya'll. dead give away. Right now in Katy the great state of Texas, soon relocating closer to work. First Pontiac was in 1982 at the tender age of 18. A 75 Trans Am-hence the name O Pontee. A bridge piling stood in the way one night on the way back home from a bar. 2nd Pontiac comes about 1985 in the way of a 77 Formula, south east Texas salt air got the best of it. It was voluntarily disassembled to build my current 68 Firebird I got in 1993. Due to wanting a 2 ton Chevy, I had to buy a daily driver which comes in the form of a 94 Firebird with a 3.4 v-6 and currently has 290,000 miles on it. And I trust this thing to go 115 miles back and forth to work every day. My mom has had a slew of Grand Prix's as my older brother also.

Hey Gang, for the newcomers who don't know me, I'm a diesel truck tech for the last 15 years with 7 years prior to that as a licensed car tech. I live in Eastern Ontario, Canada about an hour South of Ottawa just across the St. Lawrence river from Morristown NY. No, this is NOT the snow capital of North America, some of the gang who live in the US Midwest have had more snow this year in one snowfall than I've seen all season, in fact I was cleaning up my backyard in a T-shirt and jogging pants on New Years day! I bought my first Pontiac, a 1981 Lemans in 1991 and have owned several more since (another 81 Lemans, 82 Acadian/T1000, 97 GP SE) and currently own a 79 Firebird Formula that you can see in the readers rides section. I build diesel truck engines for a living and hot street/dirt track race engines for a hobby. I count several members of this forum as good personal friends and even went out my way on vacation to meet one guy this past fall.

Howdy folks..
Jim here down close to Opontee only on ther other side of Houston but I call home Wyoming.
Bought my first Pontiac (my 71 GTO I have now) in 1976 at the age of 18 down in Pensacola Florida when I was in the Marines. I've loved PMD cars long before I was able to buy one. When I was 16 and working at the local grocery store I had my eye on a 73 trans Am with a 455 SD (which I had no clue at the time what it was) but Dad said no and if I wanted a car I could buy that perfectly good 66 Ford Galaxie 500 out in the driveway of the house. So 350$ later, I had the Ford, but i never forgot that trans am.
I come on here as much as possible and share what I can and learn a whole lot more than I share.lol.
Nice to meet all of ya.

Bought my first Pontiac a used 57 Starchief in 1961. My first new car was a 66 GTO which I still have.Have had several Pontiacs as Pontiacs and GMC trucks is all I have ever owned.

Matt from Arkansas here. Dad bought new Tempests in '62, '64, and '66. The last one was my first wheels, in 1980. A post Tempest OHC6 Sprint. After that, Pontiac wise, there was a '75 Grand Prix, a '71 Ventura II Sprint, and my current '69 and '99 Grand Prix (s?). Been doing collision and restoration work for a decade professionally, and wrenching always, just to get down the street. Its a great bunch here, and one of the best tools in the box!

Alright, my name is Rob and I'm an alcoholic....oh sorry, wrong place... I'm a 30 yr plumber and about 4 yrs ago I screwed up my neck so I don't do much anymore but dream about coming up with money to sink into my ride. From 97 to 07 I ran my own Plumbing contracting business with two new Chevy vans and 4 employees and was doing rather well while working on my Lemans on the side. I've always been a gearhead since high school and drag raced on and off over the years. My first Pontiac was a 67 Lemans that I got in 73 and it was a chick getter and my first job was a gas station jocky, pumping gas. I've rebuilt a few engines over the years but I'm not a pro like most of these guys on here so if there's questions I can answer I'll try to give you my best guess and if I'm wrong the pro's will set me straight. I'm always trying to be funny so don't take it the wrong way. I don't get out of the house much anymore so you guys are all my buddys and are the reason I yak on here so much. So thats me, I could go on and on but won't bore ya with it.  Rob/Torqued400

Yeah I know, call the wambulance

hey group, my names Brian and i am an alcha.....woops, wrong group, "i like Pontiacs"!!

hail from the Motor City, 20 Miles from the namesake of our cars. My First car at 15 was a 69' firebird, that replaced my first choice, 66' GTO which got sold out from under me. since then i have owned 3 other Firebirds, 72', 75', 79', and am the proud new owner of a 66' Tempest currently being resto'd for a spring debut. Up until Sept its been around 20 years since i chose to wrench on a car. Life got in the way, well with the girls off to college and a tornado touching down in the back yard over the summer, the influx of construction work, and loads of free time made it possible for me to undertake this project. And its kind of Ironic that a Tempest (tem·pest  n.1. A violent windstorm, frequently accompanied by rain, snow, or hail.) allowed me to get my Tempest.

LMAO T, and at the same time.....we need to have a drink together, and i called Whine-One-One for your wambulance

Hello, my name is Bob and I am from a suburb of Detroit. My first Pontiac car was a 90' grand am. With that car and in high school at the time, man could get much better? Yes, it could.
Everything was cool until I slammed into the median that separated north and south bound Woodward Ave. I had some "minor" front end damage, I mean it was totaled. Now I got a 67 goat and all is good.

Hello Gary. I'm Dennis from Kennewick,WA. That's SE Washington the desert of the NW. If not for the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers this would be a waste land. They all come together here in what is known as the Tri-Cities.
I bought my first Pontiac a 66 GTO in 1971. The neighborhood I grew up in,west side of Denver, had a lot of great Pontiac iron roving the streets. These cars were new like 63 GP across the street a 62 GP around the corner. 62 GP is still my favorite. Two young men, the Thompson brothers in my high school class of 65 had a 62 Catalina with 421SD, 2-4s and 4 speed. That was probably one of the fastest cars in the Denver area. I wonder now if they were related to M/T. They ate up and spite out 409s, 390s, 406s, 413s and an occasional 427 Ford just for fun.
Welcome to group, these are some great people and they will help with your Pontiac questions.
