Going to Cog Driven Blower Drive

We started rebuilding the belt system on my 2004 GTO. going to separate the blower drive from the accessory drive. Going back to a 6 rib serpentine for the accessories. Anyone need a slightly used 8 rib?

We were using the Innovator West overdriven dampener with the 8 rib. Upwards of 21 lbs of boost was wrecking the accessories. We've now gone to the ATi Dampener with the Procharger Cog set. We will adapt that to the Whipple.

So here is the Blower pulley snout the cog fits on at the top

The initial goal was to see how high we could push a well built 408. We started wanting to go with a 91 mm Borg Warner Turbo then went through a Harrop HVT2300 and settled on the Whipple 4.0 Liter. The Lethal Performance Shelby with the 4.0 had a big impact, heck it was an inspiration.

Initially, we were just building a high horsepower car to stress Monster Clutch Prototypes. Beyond that we figured to wind up at the strip with an eye for the Texas Mile at some point. We'd like to turn in a respectable performance at the strip for the T56, with a Lenco T1200 and a built TH400 standing by. If you look at the build in readers rides you can see that the blower and the motor are actually only a portion of the build. The extensive drivetrain rework and suspension fabrication are nearly as important to our performance goals as the engine itself.

The large PD blower has presented some interesting challenges we did not anticipate but we are having a lot of fun figuring those things out. Thanks for your interest. One thing for sure, I am fairly confident no one is going to pull up beside me with a similar setup, but that is what it is all about isn't it?

Really happy with SNL visit today. Things moving forward. The upper cog drive and shaft are fabricated and ready to go. We have the tensioner and need to resolve mounting it. Right now waiting on belt and a couple of spacers. The best news is once everything is lined up we may not need to change the radiator.

We are moving the AWIC reservoir to the trunk. The front mounted one trapped a lot of header heat. We figure the extended hoses from front to back and the ability to get ice/dry ice in the filler neck of this one might improve the fun factor

Started on the remote water pump installation today. I am eliminating the tensioner on the passenger side and wonder if anyone might know of an aftermarket  tensioner I can replace the fixed tensioner on the driver's side with?

Before

After, sorta
