I need to remove the "Bonneville" emblem from the door on our 86 Bonneville. Once upon a time these things were held on by studs but these look like they are glued on. What is the best way to get them off so I can take care of a rust spot?

Sometimes, if you have some fishing line, cut off enuff to grasp in both hands and slide the line between the emblem and the surface of the car. This will cut the glue with out damaging the paint....
I got that Tin Indian GRIN!!

I remove them using a breakaway knife (y'know- the box cutters that have blades you can snap the tip off of when its dull). Sometimes I use a sharpened plastic wedge. Just get under the corner of it so you can hold it up and keep tension on the badge while you slice or saw throught the mounting tape. Be careful!
