That is quite a run on sentence  Grin .  Props for putting a 400 in there.  Try RA/HO Pontiac manifolds, there are reproductions available.  They fit well and flow well too.  Or try shorty headers.  Otherwise, you're stuck with logs or high dollar custom headers.

All I can say about the alt is try other brackets from other Pontiac engines from the yard.  You may have to make one, or just remove the hood  Cool
Can you lower the engine mounts for more clearance?

would probably not be too much work to fab a left hand mount, pontiac made all kinds of them for different years and applications though and the beauty is they will mount to most of the blocks and heads, maybe an old GM pick-up with the pontiac motor?? You could also try March performance for the brackets, they make all kinds of stuff or go serpentine. I like that you stuffed a REAL poncho motor in that F-body bet it will smoke the LS-1 crowd. post some pics.... Grin

and +1 for GTOby, headers and pontiac heads are a finicky mix (damn Siamese center ports)....i seriously spent 7 hrs. getting my headers and gaskets connected correctly (granted it was my first time in 25 years)in a car they were made to fit...buy the RA's, i will if i ever have to pull the engine again. Pain in the ass is not worth the extra few HP long pipes get you IMHO.

man i feel for you T....LOL, get out the rubber sewing finger cups so you don't wear off your fingerprints trying to get the damn bolts started without stripping a thread.....mine are just growing back after two weeks, should robbed a bank while i had the chance to finance the rest of the build and a set of RA manifolds....Wink

Haahaha G8ter.

By the way, NAPA sells a really good exhaust sealing product.  When I first put my RA manifolds on using aluminum gaskets, they leaked everywhere.  I put a thick coating of the sealer on both sides of the same used gaskets, and they sealed perfectly, and still are!  High temp red RTV works as well.

I know I'm a few years late but what did you do for engine mounts?
