I have a question, does anyone know if you can buy a kit of bolts/screws for the interior for a '67 Grand Prix Convertible? I know all of you know the story about my convertible and the clown that hosed me. Anyhow I am getting down to where we are getting close to getting stuff back together and we are missing quite a few bolts and screws. I have no interior screws, no screws for the trunk piece and the taillights. These are just some of the bolts and screws missing. I am also missing the piece that holds the lock for the trunk. Does anyone know where to find these parts? Or if they are available new? I have talked to my lawyer about it. I have heard the '67 GP took different screws then the Bonny, Catalina, etc for the trunk/taillights. I need help. Any ideas?
Thanks, Patti

I doubt that you will find a kit - but I could be wrong. The Fisher Body Manual can show you some of them and where they go and you can probably find that at the local Library. Try calling an upholstery supply in your area or Fastenall Store www.fastenal.com
If it is not a 100 point restoration then just go to the good hardware store.
Sorry I can't be of more help but maybe one of the other can.

This is a darn good question. I work at a place that does nothing but build classics and this is a major productivity issue- hardware.
Patti, if you do find a supplier offering a screw kit, rest assured that some screws you need won't be there and that some you won't be able to use. I'm currently on a 67 Impala put-together and my fastener kit came with stamped tail light nuts and no quarter extension nuts, when the car came with nuts with free-spinning washers. Big difference but fit and function are the same just not form. You are gonna run into a lot of that. I would start off by buying the hardware kit for a similar car and go from there. Unless you have some other old cars around you can pick stuff off of, you are left with that and your local bolt and screw place. They ain't gonna be much help though. Its every man for him (or lady for her)self when its put-together time, unfortunately.
That trunk lock retainer- is it really specific to the GP? I would try one from a Bon/Cat and modify as needed, or fab one from scratch, possibly using an old door lock cylinder retainer. Any specific issues you could post a pic of would get some helpful response, I'm sure.

I do have an old '68 Bonneville that 4 of the screws from the trunk will work but that is it. I am looking at Indiana Pontiacs site right now. They are having an open house this coming Saturday from noon to 4. I think I will call them. They have 2 '67 GP Convertible Part cars. I am going to contact them after I figure out what all I need and see if I can get it from them. I forgot to mention, I am also missing the screws for the fenderskirts that hold the chrome trim on. He took that off too and God only knows what he did with them. I am going to call my lawyer tomorrow and see if she can contact him before this weekend and see if he has any more of my parts at all, and if not, I am going to see if I can get them from Indiana Pontiacs and have her bill him for them.
