Hello everyone-

I just recently inherited some Pontiacs from my Uncle and I dont know ANYTHING about Pontiacs.

There are 5 cars in total.  All around 1963-1964:

I am not sure which car is which year and I am going to be documenting them soon.  But roughly there is a:
1963/64 Pontiac Grand Prix 4sp
1963/64 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 Automatic
1963/64 Pontiac Grand Prix Automatic
1964 4dr Catalina
1963/64 Catalina

I really dont know anything about these cars, they seem to be numbers matching, I am having a local shop go over the cars now and they will report to me numbers on engines etc.

The most complete is the 4dr.  They are all in very good condition but the paint looks like it was done by my uncle or someone, 'not a pro'.  Paint is chipping off the cars.

Anyway, does anyone have any info on these cars?  Values, etc?  I am going to be putting them on Ebay soon but I have NO idea the values of the cars.

There are also some tryi-power setups, rims with 8 holes, and brand new brake drums as well as tons of other parts.

Any help would be appeciated, thank you in advance,
Snell

If you have difficulty finding similar cars for sale to base your value on, this website may be helpful- nadaguides dot com (forum won't let me post the link here) under the "Classic cars" tab. The values there can run high but its based on actual sales, and its what insurance companies look to. Check it out and punch in your Pontiacs.

You could just give them to your good buddies on the HPP forums and be done with it, haha.

Thanks guys, I will go take some pix of the cars today.  Im familiar with most suggestions given, I have to admit I am a Mustang guy, if these were Mustangs I'd know the engines, trannys, and any additional accessories or special packages, but on these, I have no clue.
I hope to post some pix later.
Thanks again,
Snell

the 8 lug rims and brake drums are for the cats and highly sought after by their collectors as they have to be custom made otherwise and the guy that does them makes one run a year. (saw one at the car show Saturday and was talking about them with the owner) Do any of them Cat's have big round holes in the framework? and maybe a 421SD....that would be a jackpot

Snell" show us the pictures and we can identify the vehicles in a snap" what we need is obviously the grille, side view of vehicle, tail section and drivers side interior view with console, as far as the holes in the frame, that would only be on the catalinas.. and the holes would be from the front body mount area approx. from the A pillar to the rear just ending I believe at the rear frame "kick-up" they would be a clean hole sorta like a hole you punch out when installing a electrical junction box but bigger, and the holes vary in size from large on the main frame rails to smaller... take pictures of the engines too, and if you can, get a clear shot of the distributor areas, 421's have a specific "mountain" identification (we'll explain later) but what ever you do PLEASE, dont get "shined on" by selling your lot to a crafty gearhead in your home town. doccument the vehicles and ask us our opinion then state your selling price. think how you would feel if I sold a 1970 boss 302 4 speed for chump change?

Thanks RumRunner, thats what I was kinda lookin for...  I appreciate the areas to look at.  I will also shoot specific pix of the drums and 8 hole rims we talked about.  So is the Catalina an upgrade or a downgrade?  WE all know about Impalas, but rarely look twice at a Biscayne...

The Cat's we are describing are Called "swiss Cheese Catalina's" they were supplied to factory drag racers and ruled the strip for a few years. I believe there were 17 made (hence jackpot). Not to discount the other vehicles, as soon as you get the pics i am sure the members would be happy to help inventory them for you. Also PHS (pontiac historical society) can get you all the original paperwork for each car so their originality is documented.

Great advice G8ter about PHS!! and snell" the catalina is never a downgrade, I'm not blowing smoke in the teepee but pontiac was nver intended to be a downgrade no matter what model it was, ergonomics, drivetrain combos handling, aesthetics, are what set them apart from the rest, you could have a 421 in driver trim (not the super-duty super stock stars) and still have a car that would put a 409 and 413 to shame, ahhh the wonderful world of pontiac welcome to the pow-wow newbie, but be fore-warned buddy, it's an infectious diease of perfection in Ponti-world! nothing against the blue oval boys but after you smok-em piece pipe with us your mustang may collect dust in search of a fire-breathing 67-69 firebird!!!!!!

Ok guys I went up there today and shot a TON of pix.  Will try to post some basics tmrw.  Here is what I gathered off the top of my head:
64 GP 4speed car
64 Catalina with the word Ventura on the trunk.  This car was loaded with options, PS/PB/AC wood dash and it also had 2+2 on fron fenders.
63 GP Auto
64 GP Auto
64 Catalina 4dr

I made sure to take pix of all fhe block numbers, door tags and cowl tags.
There are no swiss cheese frames nor 421 engines.  Every one is a 389.

The cars are remarkably solid.  I mean unbelievable...  4 out of 5 cars are white witb the 4dr being light blue.  Was white the common color?

In addition to the car there are a TON of parts: about 13 of those 8 slot wheels with two spacer thingies that go with the wheels, beauty rings, consoles, drums (2 appear NOS), etc etc.

Each of the cars appear to have all parts to make the cars complete.  Some have ba k seats out and dashes pulled off.  The most complete appears to be the 4dr Cata.  Looks ready to go.

Ive had two guys private mail me I am Bullsh---ing this entire post.  My hand to the Bible I am legit and honest.  I will post pix Sat of the cars literally stacked in one shop inches away from each other.

As for my flavor of Mustangs, I only like them cuz of my Moms original 66 that I practically grew up in.  I love all cars and would die for a 68 Bird with a 400....  but I know Stangs like the back of my hand, I can rebuild 289s blindfolded.

I dont need the "piece pipe" to become a friend of the tribe... Ive rumbled with quite a few birds and GTOs to have me tilt my hat.

Picturea Saturday... I promise... gnite.
