I have some pics posted of the 340 6 pack.  It is Panther Pink from factory.  Has FM3 stamped right on the block. Also has Trans Am stamped under the hood.  Here are a few pics before we pulled the engine, pretty dirty, had been sitting in the barn, then a couple after.  In some ways it would be kinda cool to show this one and the 421 Tri-power together.  The 421 has a Snorkel Air Cleaner on it.  Not sure if I want to keep that or get the 3 little ones.  It would be kool to keep it, and show both of these cars together with the big air cleaners.  This with the rectangular one, and the 421 with the big round one.  What do you all think?  Here is the link for pics of the *** hope they look good, they were taken with an actual 35mm camera, not a digital, yeah, that old!! I hope you can see the pics okay.  Like I said, that is my husbands car. It is out in the barn, being stored. The engine has been rebuilt(thanks to me pushing him) But is still on the stand. Have you ever known someone who would leave something just sit forever? That is him. It is well hidden in the back behind the farm equipment. There are still people who stop and ask if we still have it and if it is for sale.  We tell them we don't know what they are talking about, we have always had Pontiacs...lol...someone stole the air cleaner off of it years ago. I told him to get it put away. After the air cleaner was stolen, he bought them little locks and locked the hood. A new air cleaner is about $400.  Anyhow, I will quit rambling. Hope you enjoy the car. If you like, I will get better pics of it.

Sad thing is P-Man8, we have too many projects. If you notice on the pics on photo buckets, he let his brother in law take parts of the carbs for his Comet. I am sure it would need major carb work by now anyhow. I love the car though. It is in great shape, except for the drivers side has some holes in the floorboard. We have the car stored and locked away. He also has a '70 Roadrunner with at 383 in it. The carb was taken off of that. Given to his brother for his pick up truck. My brother had over 22 Pontiac's at one time that he restored/fixed up. Never did he take one part off of mine for his. Oh well, that is life. Anyhow, he also had a Superbee in his past. No Hemi's of course....lol...My son and I are working on starting a business.  Need to get the money going to get these cars fixed up!! LOL

this is what they look like finished..

i am drooling.. i had a 70 for a few weeks..   340 4 bbl.. 4 speed .. pistol grip shifter..  what a car... sold it for a rather large pile of cash.. had a terrible lemon yellow paint job that had more runs in it that i could count.   i could not go anywhere with it without being pulled over by the police.. some just wanted to look.. some wanted to buy it..  some just wanted to see if they could write me a ticket..  in 5 years with my GTO.. i only got pulled over twice..   once by 8 LAPD motorcycle officers at the same time..  i short shifted as i saw them coming from the other direction and scratched the gears going into third..  they turned and looked and did the most beautiful parade turn to swarm on me..   i had shut it off and coasted to a stop in a parking lot when i saw them turn their heads toward me..   you could hear my engine from blocks away.. it was a real thumper..

He has no desire to restore it, tbh.  I am the one that finally pushed him to have the engine restored.  I did tell him once my other 2 are done we are going to start on this one.  He did get a little excited when I told him I talked to my upholstery guy about putting Pink Panther laying/lounging on the back seat smoking a cigarette.  The guy said he can do it if we have the pic he wants.  So, after my bro and me paint and sell my hardtop GP(that one needs very little work).  I want to get the 2+2 done, the get his TA finished.  Someone stole the air cleaner a long while back.  It needs very little body work.  Not too much interior work.  But needs new carbs, his brother in law took parts off the carbs so now we will have to replace them.  But after all these years, I am sure we would anyhow.  Then he has a '70 RR with a 383 in it with a shaker hood that needs done.  It need lots of body work though.....

BTW Wayne, that is a beautiful TA.  Maybe if I showed it to him he would get the fever.  Although I doubt it.  He would just be mad that I showed a pic of his to anyone.
