I am building a 1977 Trans Am. the car has america hatch t-tops in it. Does anyone know where one can find seals for that top, or something that will work. The car is in very good shape and i hate to junk it because of the T-tops.
Ames performance, Classic industries, Performance Years and Year One all sell weatherstripping for most Firebirds and Trans AM's
you might want to look at this website... to compare the various T tops that were available..http://www.78ta.com/ttops.php
Good pages wayne, I wish I knew about them years back, mine were the fishers and they leaked a lot.
I have a 1977 Trans Am which had these tops also. I could not find replacement seals, so I replaced the roof with a fischer top. These seals are readily avaliable.
I have the same issue with a 1977 Formula.I may have a solution as I found a driver side seal. I've done months of research via internet as well as calling around the US. I did find a manufacture that may make them if I find others interested. If anyone else is looking for American Hatch Seals, please respond!!
I am also looking for seals. I have a 78 Camaro with the American T-Tops and haven't been able to find parts for them anywhere. Let me know if you hear anything from the manufacturer you are in contact with. Thanks.
I have a 78 camaro with american hatch t tops I am interested in the seals how much does the manufacture want?
T Top guys.... i spent some time searching.....i did find this post offsite...it has a contact number that might have a similar seal..read it.. look at the pictures... call the guy..http://www.magnumgt.com/t-top-seal-replacement/please post if this helped
I worked at the Pontiac dealer when they were new. They always leaked, it was a real pain. The factory t-tops leaked too. Here in Seattle it rains a lot.
Drive it before your dead!
I'm told seals can be made for $425 a set but need at least 4 people to order - - It will take about 4-6 weeks - Anyone interested?
Any luck on the 4 people needed? I am interested in a set. I am in contact with Metro Moulded parts and hopefully can set something up with them. I have heard of scabbing two sets of Hurst together yet it is expensive. Or have you or anyone else come up with a solution?
No luck on the 4 --- Any luck with Metro? I've heard about scabbing two sets of Hurst as well but the only problem is they don't fit into the track as I bought a set to see if it was possible - On to the next experiment
JM -- Any luck with Metro --- Let's find a solution other then roof swap -- Thanks
