In need of full restoration 69 Judge convertible for sale on ebay .Pontiac only made 108 69 judge convertibles ! Rare find ! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-PONTIAC-GTO-JUDGE-CONVERTIBLE-PHS-DOCUMENTED-/190764423702?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2c6a721a16#ht_2450wt_1165

Rarity aside, this thing needs a ton of work. When I looked it had 29 bids and was up to almost $47,000 and the reserve hadn't even been met yet! That's a pile of money for a car without the original numbers matching engine in that kind of shape. Sure glad I'm not bidding on it! I wonder what the going Barrett-Jackson price is on a finished automatic Judge convertible and would the finished product justify the cost of the restoration?

One sold at Mecum for 220,000 dollars .   http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=CH1010-99026   This guy is smart! I need some finds like that .He probably bought it off of someone for cheep that didn't know what they had .He seen the 72 on the body tag and the carousel red paint on it .Then sent away for the PHS docks , bought it cheep ,didn't put any money into fixing it , made a killing on ebay and will be smiling all the way to the bank !!! I totally agree with you on that point Jack, it's the guy who buys it that has a long expensive road ahead. I wonder if that one had a numbers matching engine.

Yeah thats a lotta cash for that pile without the engine. And a bench seat car. I could fix it and its only a couple hours drive from me (one way) though. You would be pushin 200 grand to buy that and make it "right" unless you did it at home. So maybe theres a small profit to be had from saving the car. Probably would sell fairly quick at a big auction.

Yup, that's the crazy thing about this hobby, if it was an identical 69 GTO ragtop, bench seat auto with the standard 400 nobody would even consider it for a tenth of that price. Add that Judge option and suddenly it's "rare" compared to the other several thousands that rolled off the same assembly line!

A ragtop is always a better investment .I was looking for a convertible 69 GTO when I was looking for a GTO . I looked at one I didn't like it to rusty .Then I found a nice one. I had the check ready but the guy backed out . Then I found the hard top for half the price . I though o well I already have a convertible a  69 Chevelle so I bought the hard top .Then the guy with the convertible called up My wife told him to late I bought another one .I still wish I bought the convertible it was a 4 speed with black interior but the goldenrod yellow exterior would have to go !
