I thought it might be interesting to share some items i found digging through my old books. All of these came from the book " Pontiac racer's & high performance handbook" by John Angeles and Pete McCarthy, two icons in Pontiac racing history.

While over shadowed by big brother "Chevy", Pontiac engineers were truly ahead of thier time. The cars shown went anywhere from 7 seconds to 11 seconds in the 1/4 mile. One 3700 lb GTO did it on 7" slicks! Check out the 5th picture.. Still born in 1971 due to Gov. and insurance regulations but man what a monster it would have been. On the same page, check out the shift points for the RA-V due out for A and F bodies in 70.
Enjoy!

Barnett,
that all aluminum 427 DOHC Hemi was one of those prototypes. In the book they estimate its HP at a conservative 625.

my buddy don had a set of factory alum headers he said the farmer melted his set! too many back to back runs!

i have a 76 455 4 spd t/a with factory plastic windshield and rear glass reveil moldings. rock rotella said he seen a technical service bulitin on them for early 76 t/a's.

any body else know anything about this type reveil moldings? they were black with a silver stripe in the middle. you had to put them on the glass befor it was installed.

today i found another 76 455 4spd t/a silver with red interior (what my t/a should look like) at black tie clasics.com with the same moldings.

my window sticker has a rpo code of (y90 custom trim group). also found a list of gm rpo's no y90 there was a y89 se package and y91 le package. my car also had the se stripes.

you can enlarge the pic of the drivers side looking forward and see the corner piece on the back glass.  it is the one for 33,900 with 21,876 miles.
