I have called more places and I can't find the smog tube for this quadrajet so someone offered me $50 for the unit as is, I LOL at them.
The carb is a Carter made Quadrajet off a 455 1972 Pontiac carb # 7042262. it's worth more than $50, here's a pic of the vent tube:
You can see where it was cut off here:

I'm trying to restore it  and store it away for now. Anyone know where I can find this part. I've called Cliff's High perf., Quadrajet parts, The Carb Shop so far

How soon you need it. I have seen the same type q jet in a junk yard. May be a while before I have a chance to get back there.

not too soon, was hoping to repair and save it, 455 carb's are good to hold onto.

i emailed you the 67 to 75 carb parts manual for pontiacs..

the tube has a rubber seal and allows the bowl to vent into the air cleaner inner body somehow..

i suspect that there is some kind of device inside that  cover... i have not dug out my carb service manual or assembly sheets yet..  they are buried on the bottom shelf behind some heavy stuff..

i suspect a bowl vent valve..  probably opened by the lack of vacuum allowing the primary rod holder to lift it closing the valve seat when the engine is off..  reducing vapors from leaking into the atmosphere...

take a look...   i would almost bet that those models also have a carbon ring just inside the air filter that does not reach the top of the air cleaner lid.. to absorb vapors from the carb during heat soak.

i really love those square notches in the front of the secondary air door plates..  that allows the secondary to start lifting the fuel up and out of the secondary aux feed tubes..  the what..

when the top cover is off... there are 4 brass tubes sticking into the float bowl right in front of the secondaries.. the center 2 go into the big feed tubes .. the outer 2 goes to the flat faced wall with the small hole in it right at the front of the secondary blade..   this is like a secondary transition circuit. so at part or transitioning to wide open the secondaries get fuel earlier than with a chevy version that requires the entire secondary air door to open to get fuel flowing .. yep.. this is probably why quadrajet equipped motors are so powerful..   i wonder if i will get in trouble for sharing that secret..

Yes it has 6 tubes you are talking 2 small ones for the secondary air bleeds, 2 in a walled area with a small hole to it and a set that sits in the float bowl. those knotches are cool gives the secondaries a squirt like the primaries am I right?

Heres the underside of the air horn:

with the secondary butterflies being so BIG.. as they open it takes a split second for the air to pull the air door open..  this allows fuel to start flowing into the secondaries as soon as the secondary butterflys are cracked open..  but it also helps feed the secondaries at high speeds when the secondary air door is wide open..    if you ever stood back where you could see it at WOT.. you would see fuel pouring from those openings..    faster the airflow.. the more the fuel...

i noted that as i used to run my 66 around without an air cleaner sometimes and the hood was not always on....   i wondered in my youth why there was fuel spraying from those holes.. then i figured it out when i took the carb apart..

say... where do the tallest 2 tubes that are farther forward in the picture above come out???

in the back side of the primary bores???  they look like they might feed the 2 lumps you can see between the choke blade and the rear wall in this image you posted... to feed additional fuel at high speeds....   if so COOL...
