Piddling

Hey guys, thought I would drop a line.

I have been on hold for about a month on the GA so while I was not too busy I got to thinking about the emblems or lack of for my car.
I don't really care for the factory Grand Am logo so I broke out the 3D Studio MAX and picked a font and then extruded it to form a model that I could then machine on the CNC.
Once it was through I sand blasted the piece and then applied flat black paint. When the paint dried I put it on the lapping machine and ground the face of the lettering down to expose the aluminum underneath. I will apply two to three coats of clear to keep the aluminum from oxidizing.


I am thinking about doing this one on the trunk and maybe on the fenders
