What degree thermostat would you all recommend putting in a 400 with 360hp?  Would 185-190 be a good one? I need to change my top radiator hose on my GP Hardtop, has a bulge, and going to change the thermostat at the same time.  What do you think is the best?  Thanks....

Hello

What is in it now?

Does it run hot and you are trying to get it to run cooler?

192 might be good if your weather is hot.

20% antifreeze 1 bottle of water wetter and 80% water will run around 15 degrees cooler than a std 50/50 mix.

Actually Bird, it's not running hot, was checking all the fluids in it last night, noticed some antifreeze on the engine, there is a bulge in the top radiator hose and a little pinhole....so, I figured when I change the hose, may as well change the thermostat...Not sure what is in it now, tbh.  It is the GP hardtop I got from the old guy in Casper out of a car magazine...Runs beautiful...

I would go back with the same one that is in it if you aren't having overheating issues.

I would use a 180 as I have had problem with overheating issues with the high temp stats.

Thanks for the help P-Man and Bird.  Got the parts picked up and the Radiator Hose and Thermostat changed.  So far so good.  No leaks, etc....lol...Hope it stays that way....Looks as if the bottom one needs it too...That one looks a little more difficult....:-(  Anyhow, thanx for the help.  Really appreciate it.
