Has anybody tried the Pypes Violator muffler? How do they compare with the Pypes Race Pro mufflers? I have a complete Pypes exhaust on my 1979 Trans Am, I currently have the Race Pro mufflers. I just think it is too quiet now but I want to make sure it isn't too loud with the Violator mufflers.
I answered my own question. I got a set of Violator mufflers and put them on today. It is quite a bit louder in my garage at idle, but at 1500 rpms on up it sound really good. Going down the road it seems to be as quiet as the Race Pro mufflers which Pypes say are their quietest mufflers.
Well I decided that the Violator mufflers were too loud. I put on a set of Flowmaster 40 series, they are quieter than the Violators and they sound fantastic. The Pypes exhaust with X pipe fits my car perfectly so I guess the best combination for me is the Flowmaster 40s on the Pypes exhaust.
years ago i ran striaght pipes on my 76 formula. now i like quite mufflers you can get away with more! i have the street pro's they are a little loud at idle but sound real good from 2000 on up with the x pipe.
