Greetings !!! Have a 62 Grand Prix and want to install 15" rims and tires.Question... what is the widest rim size and tire size I should install withoutrubbing ? I replaced front and rear springs with NOS, so suspension is basicallystock ?Thanks...Bob
maybe 7" front 8" rear with no probfront 235 x 60 front245 x 60 rear.larger might fit, i don't know.might look a bit funny with low profile tires.
Welcome to HPP, another Grand Prix is always welcome.I've never had one of the full size GPs, but 245/60s on 7 or 8 inch wide wheels with 4-5 inches of backspace is a fairly safe bet on most vehicles. A 235/70 is a taller skinnier choice if the look calls for more sidewall. Many cars will fit a 275/60 out back with the correct wheel backspacing, but the clearance is slightly different on every car so some guesswork is involved. 255/60s all around would drive great on that heavy car. Measure an original wheel to get an idea where the middle of the rim sits in relation to the wheel mounting face. You'll want a wheel that puts the center of the tread in the same spot as the stockers but adds an equal amount of width to each side rather than sticking out or in.
