I have both the Pontiac service manual and the body manual for the full size car but I've been unable to find a wiring diagram for the 1. Power windows.2. Automatic air conditioning3. power trunk release4. full dash gauges. My parts car has most of these items and I have a spedo with full gauges, but mice have chewed some of the wiring. I don't want to just guess what's good and what's bad. If I don't have to change out the entire wiring harness I don't want to, but I can't find a diagram for any of these items. Does anyone know if they are available? and if so where? I know gauges and Automatic A/C weren't offered at the same time but I'd love to see diagram's so that I can try to discover if there's an obvious reason why, were there not enough lugs at the firewall? or was is some other reason.
full size big note that the yellow wire ign 2 and the pink wire ign1 both connect to the inside of the bulk head connector..yellow is NOT a resistance wire.. and is connected to power in the switch when the key is in the cranking position.. so full cranking voltage gets thru to the ignition coil positive..pink is a resistance wire.. this gets power in the RUN position.. the resistance in the pink wire reduces the voltage to the coil positive to prevent point burn out..
Where were these located? What book do I need to buy to get a copy? are there diagnostics in the book?
I'll have to remember the mouse trap, I have chipmunks that are begging to be drowned in antifreeze. They chewed through the AC line on my 04 GTO.
Thanks,I was just curious where these came from originally, I thought my library had all the books available for this car, but I now see I'm still missing stuff.
These are showing the Oil Pressure and the Water Temp indicator lights, did Pontiac use the same color wiring for the gauges? I'm hoping I can just use these wiring to operate the gauges, once I swap out the sensors on the engine.
I bought one of the full gauge speedometer sets with the Oil pressure and water temperature gauges almost 6 yr ago, plus I have a low fuel alert gauge from my parts car that I plan on adding to the set. The bonne has standard A/C and the parts car has automatic A/C, Power windows, vents, trunk release, 8 lug wheels, and I plan on swapping it over and scrapping the rest. The rust on the parts car is unimaginable. I'm still hoping to find cornering lights for it someday. I will keep the convertible top pieces though. Someday I'd love to try building a convertible 68 gp.
