I am about ready to weld in my new rear quarter panel skin, what should I put on top of the flanged welded outside seam?
In what order...
Epoxy
Short strand FG filler
Filler

Or should I eliminate the short strand FG, the inside seam will have epoxy then seam sealer applied when finished.

Thanks,

I stay away from reinforced fillers simply due to the fact that in all my experience, I have never dug any out that didn't have rust under it.

My opinion aside, you have it correct.

I have had good long lasting results using 3M panel bonding adhesive on bare steel over a flanged seam at the quarter to roof joint, as a base for filler. This keeps the filler thickness down, and provides a strong and stable epoxy base thats stuck to the bare steel.

My recommendation: If using quality filler, yes eliminate the stranded stuff.
