I just got home from work and found an issue of Car Craft on the table that came in the mail. It has this on the front:Dear High Performance Pontiac Subscriber,High Performance Pontiac has been discontinued with the October 2014 issue. The good news is that in High Performance Pontiac's place, you will receive the magazine that you are holding in your hands, Car Craft Magazine, for the total remaining copies on your subscription.Car Craft is all about pure American power from Chevy, Mopar, Ford, Buick, Olds, Pontiac and even AMC. Is's about burnouts, style, and speed. Most of all, it's about the stuff that real car guys live for, like great deals and coverage on parts and services as well as step-by-step guides on turning your classic beauty into a high performance machine. We thank you for your continued support, and know that you will enjoy Car Craft Magazine.Sincerely,Car Craft Magazine & The High Performance Pontiac TeamWHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!!!!!A quick leaf through and I found 1 Pontiac and 1 Olds. BOTH CHEVY POWERED! I used to subscribe to this years ago but I see it hasn't changed a bit. I guess we can all forget about the traditional Pontiac engines getting any more print coverage. On page 6 is shop talk where they say they run the risk of "perpetuating our Chevy Craft image." So unless your Pontiac is Chevy powered, forget about getting it in this magazine. Like I said when Government Motors pulled the plug on Pontiac, they should have just done it back in 1979 when they dropped the last 400 into a Trans Am. It would have been nice if they would have put the 301 into the 3rd Gen Firebirds so it would have been easy to upgrade them to real Pontiac power. I must admit I like the looks and handling of the 3rd Gen and later 4th Gen Firebirds, the 04-06 G.T.O. and the G8. But it just figures that first they take away Pontiac power and give us rebadged Chevys, next they take away the name and styling and expect us to buy Chevys or worse yet Buicks and finally they are now taking away the only magazine where we can turn to and read about all things Pontiac. I will be trying to find out about getting a refund on my remaining subscription.
They sent me Motortrend. I called and have a refund coming. I get Car Craft already, and it's $10 bucks per year to HOP at $25, so you're getting a double shafting from Source Interlink!
i received notice also of cancellation of highperformance pontiac and they tried to stick me with motor trend ,which is crap and wont even read in a drs office when its free and called to complain and got a refund coming . but tell tell the poor operator that if they knew this when they were sending out sub renewals that i consider this no better than bait and switch.sadly another informative magazine bites the dust and this comes from a diehard chrysler guy!!!
anybody wanting refunds should call the phone number i did 877-388-7761 for customer service and complain , maybe enough complaints may register with there bean counters!!!
Ive got another one for you guys!! I just received my latest issue of Popular Hot Rodding, which is a very good magazine and has a lot of great articles and Pro Touring cars and so on, AND IT STATED, LAST ISSUE!! What is this horse hockey?? Man, first my beloved High Performance Pontiac, now Popular Hot Rodding!! Pathetic. Is the world ending or something:O)?? Hang in there guys!! JB
Well I got mine today - HOT ROD, figured it was a promo copy, then I saw the cover telling me that Oct was the last issue of HPP. WTF??? So then I went and looked at all the fine print in Oct issue, and no mention of it being the last issue, they even had a subscription/renewal card in there. So I figured there would definitely be something on the web site... NOPE, nothin! Whats really ironic is that I wore my HPP t-shirt to work today, only to come home and find out it's gone..., more like a kick to the head. As a long time subscriber,(1983)I am truly disappointed.I'd like to believe maybe we'd see an online version in the future, but I won't hold my breath. Truly a sad day for us Pontiac people!! I guess the only upside is that I got Hot Rod rather than Motor Trend in it's place, although I think I'll be requesting a refund in lieu of that.
Posted twice for some reason
Today, I received a completely Pontiac free copy of Hot Rod, (great way to start a--holes). I wouldn't even use that rag for toilet paper. I called and told them that it was unacceptable. They could change my subscription to Muscle Car Review plus one issue to make up for this affront, or they could send me a check.
Ditto on the hot rod received today here as well. If I'd wanted this piece of crap, I'd have ordered it. Thanks above for the customer service number, refund supposedly on the way. She acknowledged there's quite a few irate people out there. Keep calling and canceling.
I couldn't help myself and had to send a letter to the editor of HR to express my disappointment:As a loyal subscriber to High Performance Pontiac, I came home today to find an unsolicited rag by the title of Hot Rod in my mailbox. I learned long ago that I wanted nothing to do with this and now I find that, with no notice, I can no longer receive a quality magazine (HPP) but have in its place a worthless piece of crap called Hot Rod. To top it off, nothing about Pontiac in the issue. I'm quite sure you folks made a mistake and discontinued the wrong magazine and in-as-much-as you're based in the Socialist Republic of Californicate, I can understand your error. I'm eagerly awaiting my refund and a discontinuation of Hot Rod, particularly as I don't have either a bird with a cage nor a cat litter box that needs lining.
Same crap magazine here too, HotRod? Wtf, never liked it and my high performance Pontiac subscription is good thru October 2017, how's that for loyal, unbelievable, another dark day for Pontiac fans,
