Hey all, I'm new to this site. I just purchased a 1950 Pontiac Sedan Delivery. Suspension is all original. I'm looking for info on the best cost effective way to convert my front brake setup over to disc. I.E. Spindle swaps from other years or models....

Hello and welcome. I don't think theres much of a 50s knowledge base here. I'd help you if I could. The popular solution would probably be to splice a Firebird subframe onto your existing frame. These guys will know what to do-

This is for a pair of drum to disc brake conversion brackets which will convert your classic to front disc brakes. These pieces are laser cut from 1/4" cold rolled steel for excellent tolerance control.  No machine work whatsoever is required on your spindle; it does not even need to be removed.    This conversion uses the following stock components:

1995-99 GM 1/2 ton pickup rotors (stock 5 on 5" bolt pattern)

1969-78 Cadillac Eldorado calipers

I have a 53 Chevy 210 and much of the chassis is the same. Walton's Fabrication has some nice swap kits for brakes and Mustang 2 suspension as does Chassis Engineering. When the nice weather gets here I'm going to compare a 78-87 G-body GM (Grand Prix, Cutlass etc) chassis swap which I'm told is quite easy but don't take my word for it, I haven't done it yet! lol. The H.A.M.B. (Hokey-Ass-Message-Board) is a great source of info for these cars and with some careful searching you will find all kinds of ideas.
