Anyone have any comments or reviews on a reputable performance engine rebuilding shop in Idaho. Looking to have some porting/polishing done to a pair of edelbrock Pontiac D-port heads as well as port matching the intake. also want the engine dyno tuned. Anyone on here know of a place that has a great reputation for this kind of work. Have been talking with Valley Crankshaft out of boise ID. and it sounds like they know what they are doing. but have never dealt with them and it's a small shop. Tired of wanna be performance engine builders. and looking to have it done right. Thanks.
It would be helpful to know where you're located, as it's not likely you want to transport or ship your engine/components hundreds of miles each way for machine work. However, I highly recommend Andrew Gibson, who is an excellent engine builder and Pontiac enthusiast, in Spokane, WA, which is right across the border from Coeur D'Alene, Id. He does all of my machine work and is currently building a '59 389 engine for me. He has state of the art equipment, and does world class work at reasonable prices. Whether it's for your "grocery getter" or your race car, he always takes the time to get it right. I encourage you to peruse Andrew's web site GibsonPerformanceengines.com and then give him a call at (509) 251-5171.Lowell White (509) 435-1909Deer Park, WA
Thank you for the feed back. And you are right I don't want to ship the engine hundreds of miles to get the work done. I did say in Idaho though. I live in Burley ID and it's about three hours to Boise one way and about two and a half hours to Idaho falls. I thought maybe someone on here had dealt with a shop roughly in those areas. Thanks again for your info.
